Terms of Service

1. About Our Service

Expats & Nomads ("we," "us," "our") is a expat service platform operated by Alba Mamatov. We connect individuals moving to Spain and Portugal with independent, licensed professionals — including immigration lawyers, tax advisors, real estate agents, insurance brokers, and moving specialists.

We are a matching and referral service, not a law firm, tax advisory firm, real estate agency, insurance company, or licensed professional services provider.

2. Our Role

Our role is limited to receiving your inquiry, reviewing your situation, matching you with an appropriate professional, and facilitating the introduction. For the Expert Consultation service, we also arrange and schedule the video call. All advice, opinions, and recommendations come from the independent expert, not from us.

3. Expert Consultation ($49)

You pay $49 for a 30-minute video consultation with a licensed professional matched to your situation. Payment is collected at booking, after the professional has confirmed availability for your case. Calls may be recorded for quality purposes; participants are notified. The consultation is informational and does not by itself create a lawyer-client or advisor-client relationship. Any advice is based on the information you provide and current law, which may change.

4. Limitation of Liability

Expats & Nomads is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or consequences of any advice provided by the independent professionals in our network. The expert bears full professional responsibility. We do not guarantee any specific outcome. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid ($49 for the Expert Consultation).

5. Refund Policy

• The consultation does not take place (expert no-show or cancellation on our side) → full refund
• The expert is clearly outside the scope of your case → reassignment or refund at our discretion
• You disagree with the expert's opinion → no refund (professional opinions may differ)
• Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days

6. Expert Vetting

We verify that professionals are licensed and operating in their stated jurisdiction. We do not guarantee any specific expert's qualifications beyond our initial verification. You are responsible for your own due diligence before engaging an expert for further services.

7. Your Responsibilities

Provide accurate and complete information. The quality of the consultation depends on the detail you provide. Make your own independent decisions. Engage and pay the expert directly for any services beyond the consultation.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.

9. What Data We Collect

• Name, email, phone (if provided), nationality
• Destination country, timeline, moving needs
• Description of your situation (as written by you)
• Payment info (processed by Stripe — we don't store card details)
• Usage data via Google Analytics (IP, browser, pages visited)

10. How We Use Your Data

• Match you with a qualified professional
• Deliver the Expert Consultation service
• Respond to inquiries and provide support
• Improve our website via analytics

We do not send unsolicited marketing. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.

11. Who We Share Your Data With

• One matched expert only — your name, email, and situation description (exclusive, never shared with multiple providers)
• Stripe — payment processing
• Google Analytics — anonymous usage data
• Netlify — form submissions and hosting

12. Legal Basis (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, we process your data based on: your consent (you submit the form and check the consent box), contractual necessity (delivering the service you requested), and legitimate interest (analytics and improvement).

13. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, withdraw consent, request a portable copy, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Email experts@expatsnomads.com to exercise any of these rights.

14. Data Retention

We retain your data for up to 24 months after your last interaction. You may request deletion at any time.

15. Cookies

We use Google Analytics cookies (anonymized IP, pages visited, session duration) and essential cookies for website functionality. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

16. Security

HTTPS encryption on all pages. Payments processed by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1). We do not store credit card data.
